My client is a managed hosting and cloud services provider with offices in London, Manchester and Scotland. They are part of a global technology group that support over 3000 companies worldwide. They provide solutions around Managed Services, Cloud, IaaS, SaaS, Managed Hosting, Storage, Virtualisation, Backup, Disaster Recovery, Security, Support and Professional Services.
 
Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking a Channel Development Manager to join their established team in Manchester. Reporting in to the Sales Director and working together on sales strategies and business plans, you will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities within the internal channel. Working closely with the existing customer base and leveraging partners for new leads, your aim will be to maximise profitability and growth across the business, in line with company’s vision and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with both external customers and internal colleagues across the group
  • Ensuring good relationships with internal and external customers
  • Managing the internal channel to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Liaising with other line managers within the group to develop and grow the relationships
  • Monitoring and managing all channel based sales campaigns and bids
  • Liaising with prospects and customers assisting in the sale of services (will include direct engagements where applicable)
  • Monitoring and ensuring usage of key sales systems
  • Quotation management
  • Quality assurance
  • Customer relationship management
  • Preparing detailed weekly and monthly analyses & reports for management team
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of the company’s products or services
  • Ensuring demonstrations and presentations are done to the highest standard
  • Keeping abreast of what competitors are doing
  • This role involves considerable UK travel and occasional overseas travel.

Required Skills:

  • Background in managed services sales (both hosting and on premise)
  • Proven man management experience in a related environment
  • The ability to identify gaps in our product offering and suggest solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in working in medium and enterprise size organisations

 
You can expect a basic salary between £30,000 and £40,000 (depending on experience) along with a £5,500 car allowance, death in service and contributory pension. Commission is paid at a rate of 10% on any billed margin and is completely uncapped. You will also receive 25 days holiday and a 40p a mile fuel allowance.
